Loading and Saving

To load an existing layout for editing, you can use the Game|Load... menu option, or press the [F5] key.  This will open a standard dialog box from which you can select the desired layout (*.layout) file.

When a layout is finished, you can save it using the Game|Save As... menu option, or press the [F6] key.  This opens a standard dialog box in which you can specify the desired file name.

In order to save a layout, it must have a layout name (or description) to be displayed in the game list.  If you attempt to save a layout without a name, the editor will automatically open a dialog box to prompt for this name.  To directly edit the layout name, use the Options|Editor... menu option.

Note that you can load the official tile layouts into the editor, but it does not allow them to be overwritten.  When using an existing layout as a template, it is always a good idea to give the layout a unique name to avoid confusion within the game list.

When Pretty Good MahJongg is launched, it automatically loads all layouts from the main program directory, so a final layout should be stored there, with the '.layout' file extension, in order to be included in the game list (under 'All Games' and 'Tile Matching').
